Breakfast, 8:00am
Wake up early and join the queue for The Breakfast Club in Soho before it spills out onto the street. You won’t make it through this ambitious itinerary without a filling breakfast. Choose between decadent smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, hearty bacon and banana French toast, fresh veggie burrito, or any of the other mouth-watering options on the menu.
Pampering, 9:30am
Satiated with breakfast, get in some pampering in (you deserve it) at one of the spas in London. Partake in a Ghassoul; a traditional Moroccan mud mask or a holistic massage that reinvigorates the body and mind. If time permits, finish with a pedicure or get bronzed at a nearby tanning shop.
Lunch, 12:00pm
After that substantial breakfast, keep it light for lunch. Head into El Pirata, nestled in a quiet corner of Mayfair for authentic Spanish tapas. Its intimate and unpretentious atmosphere leads to light-hearted conversations over prawns pil-pil and glasses of sangria.
Afternoon Tea, 1:00pm
Following British tradition, settle down with the ladies in the Reading Room and foyer at Claridge’s for afternoon tea. Select from one of almost 40 loose-leaf teas and herbal infusions from all around the world. There are finger sandwiches, sweet pastries, and freshly baked scones to nibble on.
Shopping, 2:30pm
From designer wares on Bond Street to curious trinkets in Covent Garden, each shopping district has its own personality. If you can’t decide which area to go to, start on the famous Oxford Street, filled with over 300 shops across 1.5 miles. But be mindful of the time, you can easily while away the whole day.
Dinner, 5:30pm
For a pre-theatre dinner, there are a number of Italian options nearby. Go to da Scalzo, an affordable restaurant that’s a five-minute walk from the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Try the bruschetta mista for an appetizer, quattro stagioni (four seasons) stone baked pizza, and finish with creamy tiramisu for dessert.
Theatre, 7:30pm
Follow the spellbinding events leading up to Dorothy’s adventures during the evening show of Wicked. First appearing on Broadway, productions of Wicked have expanded worldwide, including in London at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Tickets are a bit steep, but well worth it.
Your Choice, 10:30pm
Maybe you’ll call it an early night. Or head out on the town for a few drinks to wind down (or to get the party started). If I were to choose, I’d hit up top club Fabric for a raucous evening of dancing until the early hours of the morning.
