Traveling To Costa Del Sol

There’s no question why Costa del Sol is arguably the most popular tourist destination in all of Spain.  With the name of the area literally translating to “Coast of the Sun”, this region of southern Spain that borders right along the beautiful Mediterranean Sea is always basking in gorgeous sunlight.

But if you’re looking for a bit more than swimming and sunbathing, here are some other things that you must do while you’re in Costa del Sol:

The Picasso Museum Malaga

This one is a “must” for art lovers.  Devoted to perhaps the most influential artist to have come out of the 20th century, the Picasso Museum Malaga holds 283 of Picasso’s works.  The museum also features a specialised library, and often has wonderful world class exhibitions for visitors to enjoy.  You’ll be able to find this museum located within the BuenavistaPalace.

Selwo Adventure

This is a great place for families to visit.  Featuring more than 2000 animals from across the globe, the SelwoAdventurePark is a unique natural park that features animals like:

  • Bengal tigers
  • Lions
  • Giraffes
  • White rhinoceros
  • Elephant

You’ll be able to enjoy things like zipwire trips, camel rides, and you can test your vertical bravery while crossing one of the many bridges on the park’s “Path of Hanging Bridges”. There are also summer camps and nature classrooms set up for parents who are on the hunt for something to keep their kids busy while on their holiday.

The Roman Theatre

Built during the age of Augustus, this gigantic theatre has been so well preserved that tourists can easily envision how life must have been around the threatre until the 3rd century, when the theatre was then no longer used.

It was only fairly recently that the theatre was uncovered.  In 1951, it was decided that a garden would be built by the Casa de la Culture (House of Culture).  When the excavating process got underway, archaeologists quickly realised that what they were standing on top of was of significant importance to Spain’s history.  Since then, the excavation process is still underway, though visitors can now clearly see almost all of the different elements of the theatre.  The entrance to the stage, the 15-metre long orchestra area, the seating area and the theatre entrance have all been uncovered.  Tourists will be able to view and snap pictures of this wonderful discovery right next to the Alcazaba.

El Chapparal Golf Club

If a golf holiday is what you seek, then Costa del Sol is sure to not disappoint.  From the Aloha Golf Club in Marbella to the Atalaya Old & New Golf Course in Estepona, each golf course in this region has something a bit different to offer.  One of the most treasured locales for those on a golf holiday, however, is the El Chapparal Golf Club.  Nestled right in the hillside coastal landscape of the Mijas-Costa, this golf course offers a truly extraordinary panorama of scenery from every single hole.  It’s also the only golf course in the area that has six par 3 holes, six par 4 holes and six par 5 holes. Golf Kings handle a lot of the organisation for you if you’re interested on a golf holiday in Costa Del Sol. So have a look if you’re the sort of person that just wants to book the package deal and then relax and enjoy themselves.
